Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina, Columbia, SC – January 21, 2013
After many months of prayer, study, deliberation, and search by the CBFSC Transition Team, the Administrative Council of CBFSC unanimously approved their recommendation on January 10, 2013 to call Dr. Jay Kieve as the new Coordinator of CBFSC. The Transition Team is excited to announce that Dr. Kieve has accepted the invitation and will join CBFSC on March 25, 2013. Joining Dr. Kieve in the move to SC will be his wife Melanie, their son Jesse, and daughter Emma Katherine.
Dr. Kieve holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, and Master of Theology and Master of Divinity degrees from Duke University Divinity School. His undergraduate degree is from Mercer University. Dr. Kieve is currently pastor of Crosscreek Baptist Church in Pelham, Alabama, where he has served since 2005. He has served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Allendale, SC (1999-2005) and before that, served as Associate Pastor at University Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC (1992-1999). He has a long history of involvement with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship at the national level, as well as in each of the states where he has served.
In a recent statement, Dr. Kieve shared, “I am honored and humbled to be called back to ministry in South Carolina. I am excited to join with CBFSC Christians and churches in God’s mission of grace, healing, and love.”
Dr. Kieve succeeds Dr. Marion Aldridge who will retire in February, 2013, after serving as Coordinator of CBFSC for 15 years.
